Welcome to Emily Carr’s Second Act! We're thrilled to have you here and encourage thoughtful discussions and respectful interactions. Emily herself was a trailblazer who marched to the beat of her own drum—so let’s keep things respectful, kind, and open-minded in this space, just like she did!

Here’s Our Policy for Comments:

  1. Respectful Dialogue: I strive to represent Emily to the best of my ability based on the information I've learned and read. However, I’m only human, and I might not have all the facts! If you’re more informed or have insights to share, I’d love to hear them—but please, keep it civil. Constructive criticism is always welcome, but no attacking or malicious comments allowed.

  2. Be Kind: This is an inclusive space for fans, scholars, and anyone who admires Emily’s work. Let’s respect each other’s opinions and engage in positive discussions. Remember, kindness goes a long way, and it costs nothing!

  3. Zero Tolerance for Bullying: We have zero tolerance for bullying. If your comment crosses the line into disrespect or hurtfulness, we will politely ask you to leave. And, just to keep it light, if the behavior continues, we may have to ship you off to a sanitarium! (Don’t make us do it—we really don’t want to.)

  4. An Open Space for All: Whether you’re a long-time Emily Carr fan, new to her work, or just love art in general, we’re here to celebrate creativity. Discrimination or hateful language will not be tolerated.

  5. Let's Learn Together: This blog is a journey of discovery, and I’m all for learning from each other. Let’s create a space where we can all grow in our appreciation for Emily’s legacy and the impact of her unique perspective.

Thank you for respecting these guidelines and contributing to a space that encourages growth, creativity, and fun!
